Every year, Northwestern hosts an event known as All Scout Nano Day where Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, members of Venturing Crews, and their leaders come to learn about nanotechnology. The scouts present research projects, tour labs, and participate in a variety of activities that demonstrate why small science is such a big deal. To date, the event has attracted over 800 participants. The photos below were taken during the 10th annual All Scout Nano Day held on Saturday, March 17th 2012.

Professor Van Duyne has, in his career, advised a total of 52 graduate students and 36 postdoctoral fellows. As of Spring 2012, 18 graduate students, 6 postdoctoral fellows, and 1 research assistant professor are active in our research team.
